    Kristin Schudy Russell, PhD received a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Mississippi in 1996. She worked in community mental health and the foster care system before entering private practice. From 2006-2022, she practiced as a women’s psychologist with an emphasis on helping women manage the stress that comes from juggling parenthood, managing a home, and/or working outside the home. After struggling for many years to find effective treatment for her son’s emotional dysregulation, she decided to produce this documentary.

    In December, 2022, she completed a certificate in public policy at the University of Colorado at Denver and hopes to influence policy change to provide more education and affordable treatments in mental health.

    Additionally, she is completing a certificate in coaching through the College of Executive Coaching and will be coaching women who want more energy to give to themselves and their loved ones.

    Celia Tewey is a filmmaker, producer, and visual artist based in New York City. She is a graduate of New York University with a degree in Film and Television Production with quad-minors in Journalism, Bioethics, Entertainment Producing, and BEMT (business, entertainment, and media technologies). Celia has been creating content from a very young age and hopes to use her skills in storytelling, film, animation, and producing to create content aimed at mental health and social justice stories. She is currently an Assistant Producer in Story Development at NBC Universal Dateline.

    Renee Ann Richker, MD attended Texas Tech Health Sciences Center for medical school, where she was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha, a Medical Honor Society for excellence in academics. Dr. Richker completed her Adult Psychiatry Residency at UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute, finishing her training as Chief Resident. The mountains were calling, so she completed her Child Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of Colorado. She worked at several mental health centers in the Denver Metro Area over the next 18 years, working with underprivileged children with complex psychiatric issues, and also many kids in foster care. She started her private practice in 2004. Primarily a general child psychiatrist specializing in medication management, she noticed that the majority of her families came in with “emotional dysregulation” as a primary concern. Diagnosis and treatment of these kids and families became a passion, culminating in her recent collaboration with Kristin Russell, PhD on the documentary, I Want My Kid Back: Treating Emotional Dysregulation.

  • Kerri Honaker, M.S., M.A., LPC, BCN, is the founder and director of neuroAgility, PC. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor with graduate degrees in Clinical Psychology and in Counseling and Family Therapy. Ms. Honaker is board certified in neurofeedback from the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance (BCIA). She is a member of AAPB (Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback), iSNR (international Society of Neuronal Regulation), AASP (Association of Applied Sport Psychology), and BIAC (Brain Injury Association of Colorado). She treats adults and children with symptoms of emotional dysregulation from a variety of causes and shares some of her expertise in this documentary.
